Tango Classes

Classes are taught at three levels:

  1. The Beginners tango course, which starts on the first Friday of every month, is for those with no knowledge of tango.
  2. Recent Beginners classes assume the knowledge of the Beginners tango course.
  3. Intermediate classes assume the most knowledge.  In these classes you will find some who have danced tango for as little as three months and others who have danced for over ten years.

The Beginners tango course and Recent Beginners classes are described on separate pages, while this page covers Intermediate classes.

The Intermediate class is held in the main hall before the milonga.  It starts at 7:30pm and lasts an hour.  The teachers are guest teachers, often from abroad.  The class is an open class, so the numbers of men and women may not match; and they may vary if some people arrive late.  Teachers are encouraged to ask people to change partners, but the responsibility for ensuring you have a partner does not rest solely with the teachers.  When there is a change of partners: if you have a partner please try to find someone who is without one; if you do not have a partner, please be active in finding one.

Our monthly programme shows the Intermediate class teachers a month ahead.  If you are interested in finding our about past teachers you will find some in the archive pages.
